AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism
Course Description
This course follows the AP curriculum guide for AP Physics C: E/M. AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism is a calculus-based, college-level physics course, especially appropriate for students planning to specialize or major in physical science or engineering. The course explores topics such as electrostatics; conductors, capacitors, and dielectrics; electric circuits; magnetic fields; and electromagnetism. Introductory differential and integral calculus is used throughout the course.
Prerequisites
AP Physics C: E/M is a second year physics course, so students must take AP Physics 1 and 2 as a prerequisite. It is also recommended that students taking this course should have taken or be concurrently taking Calculus.
About the Instructor
Dr. John Evans holds a PhD in Physics from UCLA, where he then worked as a research associate for 15 years. He has been teaching math, physics, and astronomy since 1988, and has worked at PSA for more than a decade.
