AP Physics II
Course Description
This course follows the AP curriculum guide for Physics II. AP Physics II is an algebra-based, introductory college-level physics course. Students cultivate their understanding of physics through inquiry-based investigations as they explore these topics: fluids; thermodynamics; electrical force, field, and potential; electric circuits; magnetism and electromagnetic induction; geometric and physical optics; and quantum, atomic, and nuclear physics.
Prerequisites
Students should have completed AP Physics I or a comparable introductory physics course and should have taken or be concurrently taking Pre-Calculus or an equivalent course.
About the Instructor
Dr. John Evans holds a PhD in Physics from UCLA, where he then worked as a research associate for 15 years. He has been teaching math, physics, and astronomy since 1988, and has worked at PSA for more than a decade.
