Advanced General Biology
Course Description
Advanced General Biology is a 20-week course designed for students in private high schools. It covers all topics in the field of biology and is equivalent to the first-year courses in a university biology major. Weekly lectures and course tests assist students in mastering advanced biological concepts, enabling them to achieve outstanding results in biology competitions.
This course is suitable for preparing for the final stages of various biology Olympiads. The prerequisites for the Advanced Biology course include completion of the Intermediate Biology course at PSA, or one of the following: A score of 5 on the A Biology exam/ Semi-finalist in the USABO /(USA Biology Olympiad)/ Gold or Silver level in the BBO (Biology Olympiad).

Prerequisites
The prerequisite for the Advanced Biology class is the Intermediate Biology class at Prestige STEM Academy, or to have achieved one of the following: a 5 on the AP Biology exam, USABO Semifinalist, or BBO gold or silver.
About the Instructor
Dr. James Lin graduated from Wisconsin Medical School with a Doctor of Medicine degree. He earned his Master's degree in Human Psychology and Animal Behavior Evolution from University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley).
Since 2012, Dr. Lin has been teaching honors, AP, and advanced biology courses to high school and middle school students. He possesses a wealth of subject knowledge and the ability to convey to his students. Over the past 20 years, he has taught over 1000 students, many of whom have excelled in AP Biology exams and biology competitions. Thanks to his quidance and teaching, many students have been admitted to prestigious institutions such as Harvard University, Stantord University, Yale University, Princeton University, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Dr. Lin excels in sparking students' interest in biology, quiding them in their pursuit of academic excellence. He values the individual development of each student, encouraging personalized learning and support them to leverage their strengths and providing guidance
